Weight Loss. Which is more Promising? Diet or Exercise?
Written by Colette Barry.
The bitter reality of today's era is that we tend to rely heavily on fast food while on the go. The juicy burger and tempting French fries might serve the hunger-satiating purpose for the time being but it has proved to be extremely harmful in the long run.
The percentage of obese people in nearly all parts of the world has increased by a significant margin and further our couch potato attitude only enhances our anti-gym routine. The after math? A generation plagued by woes of health issues that no human could have perceived in their worst nightmare.
Is Losing Weight Really That Simple?
Of course it is! When considering losing weight people often find it difficult to set their dieting plan on the right path. You should be aware that there is no single method dedicated to the art of getting in shape. You have ample procedures at your disposal which can only be accessed if you show a glimpse of will power!
Hitting the Gym Regularly
While trying to shed a few pounds it is extremely important to exercise on a daily basis. Exercising is like the icing on the cake, which allows you to burn the fat previously stored in your body. Doing so helps you actually lose weight instead of merely maintaining it.
Eating Wisely
Moreover, one must make sure they carefully watch what they eat. People often believe that by cutting down on the amount of food they consume, they will automatically start shaping up. This might not be true in most cases, because what really matters is what you eat, not how much you eat. So put away those freshly baked cupcakes and opt for raw vegetables instead. After all eating healthy is your weight losing mantra!
Working with Metabolism
Studies have proved that one of the best ways of burning fat and shaping up is by increasing your body's metabolic rate. Instead of consuming large quantities of food in one go, spread your meals over a day by eating in small portions throughout.
The Atkins Diet Miracle
The Atkins diet involves the intake of large amount of protein so the food consumption is centered mainly around chicken dishes. However, you can also opt for a vegetable diet, in which no or minimum amounts of oil is used and most of the food is either boiled or grilled. If strictly followed, these diets help one to lose weight in no time.
Remember! You will not achieve desirable results overnight. It is a time consuming process that feeds on patience and motivation of an individual.
People often tend to start off with diet plans and weight loss programs with immense enthusiasm and are found giving it up half way. It is fundamental for you to stay focused towards your goal and maintain the measures. With regular exercises and the implying of the above mentioned steps, losing weight might not be as difficult a task as it appears to be. A little bit of hard work and time invested can do the trick!
As Mark Hyman puts it:
While weight loss is important, what's more important is the quality of food you put in your body. Food is information that quickly changes your metabolism and genes.
