Feng Shui Anyone?

Written by Ron DeNardo.

Due to its increased popularity, only a small portion of the U.S. population still may not be familiar with what Feng Shui actually is. Therefore, for the sake of the unenlightened, I'll begin by providing its formal Webster Dictionary definition. Feng Shui: "a Chinese practice in which a structure or site is chosen or configured so as to harmonize with the spiritual forces that inhabit it, also: an auspicious orientation, placement or arrangement".

Feng Shui is an ancient art and science first developed some 6000 years ago. It is a system based on astute observation and experimentation. Feng Shui is also the study of the environment, people, places, things and time and how the energies of each interact with one another. It is a holistic practice of understanding and harnessing the forces of nature to benefit one's overall health and well-being.

Feng Shui according to its actual Chinese translation, literally means "wind/water," the two natural elements that influence the focus of the Earth's Chi, or energy, in a building or on property. Figuratively, the term represent the art and science of living in harmony with nature's forces. Feng Shui studies how your personal life forces interact with you total environment over cycles of time.

Feng Shui was even being used in Medieval China, where it was a closely guarded secret. Feng Shui masters were restricted to practicing it only among the aristocracy. And by deliberately excluding the common people from the benefits of Feng Shui's power, the elite ensured their high born positions. Feng Shui masters were greatly rewarded for their expertise and severely punished, or even executed if they were ever caught aiding the masses.

So, now that you have an idea of what Feng Shui is all about, its origins and what it purportedly can do for the masses, you may now rightly ask: "What can it do for me personally"? Well, I am glad you asked. First of all, Feng Shui is for everyone! Feng Shui can and is used to help manifest prosperity, good health and favorable relationships to both individuals and businesses alike. Yes even by seeking desperate measures to solve and or who are looking for a winning edge over, everyday problems and concerns.

Therefore, if you are willing to take a chance and consider using Feng Shui to improve your personal situation, you'll first of all need an open mind. To be able to take a leap of faith and extend your senses into the realm of the unseen and unknown. And when it pays off, you will certainly feel satisfied with the results. But please, even before you attempt using Feng Shui, remember that it can only be used to improve your current circumstances. And that it can never be used for selfish, materialistic or malicious purposes. Good Luck!
